  • Page 39: To Set Rolling Basket Position

To Set Rolling Basket position: 1. It is best recommended to operate the rolling basket packer system in a Float position at all times, rather than continuous pressure. Continuous hydraulic down pressure may cause the rolling baskets to raise the rear gang of discs on the machine out of the ground during operation, hindering performance and field finish.
  • Page 40: Maintenance

Maintenance: There is little maintenance required to the rolling baskets. The bearings must be installed correctly to the baskets and frame to minimize side load and premature bearing failure. The bearings and the stub shaft may be shimmed accordingly to minimize the side load. Illustrations below indicate proper shimming technique.
