This section describes how to replace the three HDDs in the mid drive tray in physical slots 14, 15,
and 16 in an X400H capacity cube.
Removing the drive carrier from the mid drive tray

If the drive is online, the green activity/fault indicator flashes as the drive is turned off. When the
drive indicators are off, the drive is ready for removal.
Procedure
1. Lift the drive carrier handle upward.
2. Press the release tab on the drive tray and lift the drive carrier handle upward to disengage
3. Hold the drive carrier handle and lift the drive carrier out of the drive tray.
The Progress field shows the percentage of completion.
CAUTION Do not force the disk to go Online. This can potentially corrupt the disk array
and result in data loss. Contact Dell EMC Support for assistance.

c. On the Cube Details page, click Put Into Maintenance Mode.
A Capacity Cube-In Maintenance Mode job is created. You can monitor this job on
the Jobs page. The job takes approximately five minutes to complete.
