Functional description of the central lubrication system
The integrated control unit PICO-troniX1 or PICO-tronic are for control of a progressive central lubrication system, a multi
line central lubrication system or for a mixed system. It can be installed at the central lubrication pump PICO.
7.1.1 Lubrication systems
If the central lubrication pump PICO is installed in a progressive central lubrication system, up to two independent
lubricant circuits can be connected. When using the pump as a multi line pump, up to 8 lube points can be supplied with
lubricant. Both systems can be combined by means of the pump PICO.
7.1.2 Progressive-central lubrication system
Aprogressive lubrication system, is a system that can process lubricants up to NLGI class 2.
A progressive central lubrication system mainly consists of a central lubrication pump and a progressive distributor. The
pump supplies lubricant in the main distributor. This one splits up lubricant to the secondary distributor in the right relation.
The secondary distributor supplies lubricant to the lube points.
If a lube point would not get lubricant from the distributor, it will block. The builds up pressure that is limited to 280 bar by
means of the pressure limiting valve (ball valve version) that is installed at the pump element (pos. 11 + 12, fig. 1). This
helps to secure the system.
7.1.3 Multi line central lubrication system
Amulti line lubrication system, is a system that can process lubricants up to NLGI class 2.
It mainly consists of a central lubrication pump and the lube lines that are directly connected with the lube points. Each
lube point needs a separate pump element.
7.1.4 Mixed systems
Mixed systems that are supplied by a central lubrication pump PICO, on the one hand consists of a progressive
lubrication system and on the other hand of a multi line lubrication system.
One lubrication circuit with progressive distributors can be connected at the pump elements PE-60 to PE-170 (Pos. 1+2,
fig. 1). One lube point can be connected at the pump elements PE-5 to PE-50 (Pos. 3-10, fig 1).
