VLT 4000 VTprotection:
Electronic motor thermal protection against overload.
Temperature monitoring of heat-sink ensures that the VLT AFD cuts out if the temperature reaches 90°C
for Chassis and NEMA 1. For NEMA 12, the cut-out temperature is 80°C. An overtemperature can only
be reset when the temperature of the heat-sink has fallen below 60°C. VLT 4152-4202, 380-460 V
cuts out at 80°C and can be reset if the temperature has fallen below 60°C. VLT 4252-4352, 380-460
V cuts out at 105°C and can be reset if the temperature has fallen below 70°C.
The VLT AFD is protected against short-circuiting on motor terminals U, V, W.
The VLT AFD is protected against ground fault on motor terminals U, V, W.
Monitoring of the intermediate circuit voltage ensures that the VLT AFD cuts out if the
intermediate circuit volt-age gets too high or too low.
If a motor phase is missing, the VLT AFD cuts out.
If there is a line fault, the VLT AFD is able to carry out a controlled deramping.
If a line phase is missing, the VLT AFD will cut out when a load is placed on the motor.
