Preparing to Use the
Machine
Review all of the safety decals on the machine.
Use a hard-hat, hearing protection, a shirt with
long sleeves that are tight at the wrists, tight-fitting
gloves without draw strings or loose cuffs, eye
protection, and a dust mask or respirator. A
mesh visor alone does not provide sufficient eye
protection; supplement with protective glasses.
Ensure that you are familiar with the safety
regulations and shutdown procedures described
in the Operator's Manual and Engine Owner's
Manual.
Ensure that all guards are in place and in good
condition.
Ensure that the paddles are in place and in good
condition.
Check the fuel and oil levels of the engine.
When preparing to mix material:
1.
Move the machine to a level job-site surface.
2.
Remove the machine from the tow vehicle.
3.
Chock the front and back of the tires to
prevent the machine from moving.
4.
Ensure that the drum is in the mix position
(upright).
5.
Ensure that the drum-tilt brake is engaged
and that the drum does not rotate toward the
dump position.
