Maintenance and Care

Do not expose the saw to rain.
Before undertaking any kind of work on the machine, unplug the unit from
the power mains.
Clean the machine with a soft, slightly moistened cloth.
Do not immerse the machine in liquids of any kind and do not allow liquids
to enter the machine.
Lubricate the bearings of the arms every 50 hours of operation.
Lay the machine down on one side.
Apply a liberal amount of non-gumming oil to the shaft end and to
the bronze bearings.
Allow the oil to soak overnight.
Repeat the process from the other side.
In the same interval the carbon brushes of the motor should be changed.
One carbon brush is vertically on top of the motor, the other one directly
under the motor. The base plate is designed to allow easy access to the
lower carbon brush.
Use a suitable slotted screwdriver to unscrew the caps of the
carbon brushes.
Now the carbon brushes can be removed and replaced if
necessary.
After that, replace the caps.
If any kind of malfunction occurs during operation, immediately stop
working with the machine.
Do not attempt to repair the unit yourself. Have the unit repaired by a
professional or contact the Westfalia Customer Service.
