Removing a field control unit / field module

Removal sequence
The following applies if you need to remove the field control unit and/or field module, for
example, for repair purposes: First remove the field module before removing the field control
unit.
Removing the field module
1. Shut off the gas supply to the field module.
– Always shut off the sample gas supply first.
– Shut off the reference gas line only after purging the gas paths.
2. Purge the gas paths of the field module.
– Use inert gas for purging.
– Make sure that there are no toxic or flammable gases in the device.
3. Switch off the complete device at the main connection of the field control unit.
4. Wait until the field module is not pressurized. Observe the waiting time specified on the
warning label on the device. → Technical specifications (Page 87)
5. Use an appropriate tool to open the housing part of the field control unit in which the terminal
block is located.
The tool can be separately ordered as an accessory.
6. Remove the connections of the field module from the terminal block.
7. On the field control unit, open the cable gland of the connection cable which leads to the
field module.
8. Pull out the connection cable of the field module from the connection area of the field control
unit.
9. Withdraw the connection cable back to the field module. The cable remains on the field
module.
10.Loosen the gas connections of the field module.
11.Loosen the securing screws of the field module.
Removing the field control unit
1. Shut off the gas supply to the analyzer module.
2. Switch off the complete device at the main connection of the field control unit.
3. Check that the field control unit is deenergized. Observe the waiting time specified in the
section → Technical specifications (Page 87).
4. Use an appropriate tool to open the enclosure cover behind which the terminal block and
the Ethernet connection panel are located.
The tool can be ordered as an accessory.
5. Loosen the cable glands.
