4. Load the envelopes longitudinally with the side to be scanned facing down into the input tray. For envelopes
with an open end (flap portion) on the shorter side, load the envelope with the open end (flap side) placed at
the top.
Insert the envelope into the ADF until it meets resistance.
Important:

Do not load envelopes with adhesives on them.
Note:
❏ Envelopes that are not cut cleanly at the flap edge when opened may not be scanned correctly.
❏ Envelopes that have not yet been sealed can be loaded with the flap open and facing up.
5. Align the edge guides with the envelopes. Otherwise, the envelopes may be fed skewed.
