Lock Out Tag Out Procedures

1 comments:
Mr. Anderson
February 14, 2025

The Lockout Tagout (LOTO) procedures for the KVAL 994-X are as follows:

1. Pre-Steps Before Lockout Tagout:
- Ensure all personnel are aware of the lockout process.

2. Lockout Tagout Power:
- Turn off all power sources and secure them with a padlock.
- Attach a tag to the padlock with the operator’s name and date.

3. Lockout Tagout Air Supply:
- Turn all air valves to the OFF position.
- Place a padlock through the hole and attach a tag as per tagout guidelines.

4. Start Maintenance:
- Verify that all locks and tags are in place.
- Attempt to operate the machine to confirm it will not start.
- Begin maintenance or repairs only after verification.

5. Post Maintenance Steps:
- Remove all tools, spare parts, and test equipment.
- Reinstall all guards and safety devices.
- Inspect the equipment to ensure it is safe to re-energize.

6. Zero-Energy to Start-Up:
- Remove the lock and tag (only by the person who placed them).
- Ensure the machine is safe before restarting.

If multiple people are working on the machine, each person must place their own lock and tag. Only the person who applied the lock can remove it.
