6.5 Starter

6.5.1 To remove and install the starter unit
1. Remove the 3 screws that hold the starter unit.
2. Remove the engine cover. Refer to
15 .
3. Remove the starter unit.
4. Install in the opposite sequence.
Note: Make sure that the bottom of the starter unit
(A) is attached to the rubber suspension (B) on the
fuel tank.

WARNING: Use protective glasses. The recoil
spring can eject from the starter pulley and
cause injury.

put the starter rope into the notch (A) in the starter
pulley (B). Hold the starter pulley with your thumb.
