Moving and
Transporting the
Printer

Important:
❏ Strong impacts may damage the printer.
❏ Leave the ink cartridge installed. Removing the
cartridge can dry out the print head and may
prevent the printer from printing.
❏ Do not leave the printer in direct sunlight, near
heaters, inside cars or other locations that are
subject to high temperatures. The printer may
be deformed or ink may leak.
Note:
If print quality has declined the next time you print, clean
and align the print head.

Transporting

When you need to transport the printer to move or for
repairs, follow the steps below to pack the printer.

Turn off the printer by pressing the P button.

Make sure the power light turns off, and then
unplug the power cord.

Important:
Unplug the power cord when the power light
is off. Otherwise, the print head may not
return to the home position causing the ink
to dry, and printing may become impossible.

Disconnect all cables such as the power cord and
USB cable.

Make sure there is no memory card inserted.

Taking the Printer with
You
You can move the printer to enjoy printing wherever
you like. You can print from your smart device using
Epson iPrint.

Remove all of the paper from the printer.
Return the LCD screen and the output tray to its
original position.
Pack the printer in its box, using the protective
materials.

Important:
When transporting the printer, avoid tilting
it, placing it vertically, or turning it upside
down; otherwise ink may leak.
See steps 1 to 6 from "Transporting" on page 47
for more details.
Put the printer in a bag, and then take it wherever
you like.
