Step 2 Select the Stream Type of the camera to main stream (normal), sub-stream or third
stream.
The main stream is usually for recording and live viewing with good bandwidth, and the sub-
stream and third stream can be used for live viewing when the bandwidth is limited.
Step 3 You can customize the following parameters for the selected main stream or sub-stream.
l Video Type
Select the stream type to video stream, or video & audio composite stream. The audio signal
will be recorded only when the Video Type is Video & Audio.
l Resolution
Select the resolution of the video output according to the requirement for the quality of the
image.
l Bitrate Type
Select the bitrate type to constant or variable.
l Video Quality
When bitrate type is selected as Variable, 6 levels of video quality are selectable.
l Frame Rate
Set the frame rate to 1/16~25 fps. The frame rate is to describe the frequency at which the
video stream is updated and it is measured by frames per second (fps). A higher frame rate
is advantageous when there is movement in the video stream, as it maintains image quality
throughout.
l Max. Bitrate
Set the max. bitrate to 32~16384 Kbps. The higher value corresponds to the higher video
quality, but the higher bandwidth is required.
l Video Encoding
If the Stream Type is set to main stream, H.264 and MJPEG are selectable, and if the stream
type is set to sub stream, H.264, MJPEG, and MPEJ4 are selectable.
l Profile
Basic profile, Main Profile and High Profile for coding are selectable.
l I Frame Interval
Set the I-Frame interval to 1~400.

The supported video encoding may differ according to the different platform.
l The visit channels vary according to the different camera models. IPC6123-WDL-A, IPC6131-WD-A
and IPC6231-WD-VRZ support up to 20 channels' visit, with a total bandwidth of 60M. IPC6232-IR,
IPC6331-IR and IPC6332-MIR support up to 6 channels' visit, with a total bandwidth of 40M. IPC6212-
IR and IPC6311-IR support up to 6 channels' visit, with a total bandwidth of 20M.
l Due to the CPU performance restriction, when six channels of media streams are enabled at the same
time, it is recommended that the bit rate be lowered. Otherwise, a fault may occur, for example, artifacts
or PU recording exception.
l The image quality item is only available when the Stream Type is VBR. And the profile complexity is
only available when the Encoding Type is H.264.
