These drive modes are selected with the down key of the controller (page 53).
Compose the picture as described in the basic recording operation section
(page 39). Press the shutter release button partway down to lock the
exposure and focus for the series. Press and hold the shutter release button
all the way down to begin taking pictures. When the shutter release button is
pressed and held, the camera begins recording images until the maximum
number has been taken or the shutter button is released. The frame counter
is adjusted after the series has been taken.
Sequential:
To take up to four images when the shutter release button is pressed and
held. With the image-size setting of 2,560 × 1,920, the maximum rate of
capture is 1.9 fps.
The built-in flash can be used, but the rate of capture is reduced because
the flash must recharge between frames. Date imprinting (page 69) also
reduces the rate of capture.
High speed sequential:
To capture up to eleven 1,280 × 960 images in one second regardless of
the image-quality setting. A thumbnail of each frame in the series is shown
six at a time while being saved. The built-in flash cannot be used. When
the red low-battery pack warning is displayed, this drive mode cannot be
used. Very bright light sources in the scene may cause streaks to appear
on the image. Black areas caused by data loss may also be apparent.
