GETTING UP AND RUNNING
CHARGING THE BATTERY PACK
Before the camera can be used, the lithium-ion battery pack must be
charged. Before charging the battery pack, read the safety warnings on
pages 7 to 23 of this manual. Only recharge the battery pack with the
supplied battery pack charger. The battery pack should be recharged before
each shooting session. See page 110 for battery pack care and storage.
Plug the power cord into the back of the
charger unit 1. Plug the other end of the
cord into a live household outlet. The
included AC cord is designed for the

current used in the region of sale. Only
use the cord in the region in which it was
purchased (page 119).
With the battery pack terminals forward,
lower the battery pack into the charger so
the guides in the charger bed enter the
channels on the battery pack. Slide the
battery pack forward into the charger.
The indicator lamp 2 glows to show the
battery pack is charging. The lamp goes
out when the battery pack has been
charged. Charging time is approximately

90 minutes. Remove the battery pack
from the charger. Unplug the power cord
from the outlet.
