3.1.4 Processor Control Commands

The following table lists the processor control commands:

3.1.4.1 BOOT Command

The BOOT command starts the bootloader, which loads the operating system
and starts it. The BOOT command causes the system to exit console mode and
enter program mode. The BOOT command has the following syntax:
Syntax:
>>> BOOT /[qualifier] [boot_device],[boot_device]...
Table 3–6 describes each term in the BOOT command.

Description
This optional qualifier sets the value for R5 for the bootloader.
It is used to select a boot on the disk, or to select a
conversational boot.
The R5 qualifier can be specified in either of the following
formats:
/R5:xxxxxxxx
/xxxxxxxx
This optional term is the primary boot device. If no device
is specified, the system attempts to boot the default device.
You can set the default boot device by using the SET BOOT
command.
You may enter optional secondary devices as well; the
secondary device is the device that the bootloader tries to
boot if the primary boot device fails.
