Establishing Terminal-PC Connection

After connecting to power supply, you have to configure the system settings. MT180 enables users to
link to a host computer via Ethernet or RS485 interface for data communication.

As regards to technical engineers, Unitech MTTool is designed for setting up MT180 and allows them
easily to customize access control, attendance control, and manage function modules in a specified
terminal. Follow instructions below to connect your terminal to MTTool.
1.
Connect MT180 and your computer to the network.
2.
As the default IP address of MT180 is set to be 192.168.2.127, you have to set your computer
to be on the same subnet with MT180.
For example, IP Address 192.168.2.100; Network Mask 255.255.255.0

Make sure your TCP port 10002 is not occupied. If you have installed JanitorLite, stop Unitech
MT Service in Control Panel.
4.
Disable firewall and execute MTTool.
5.
Under SysSet1 tab in MTTool, select WinSocket and input the default IP address 192.168.2.127
and default port 10002 for MT180.
6.
Click Connect button. The status bar at the bottom of MTTool displays "Connection succeed"
informing you MTTool has successfully cononected to the terminal.
You can now calibrate the display, set up the system date and time, and so on.
