Connections on the gas side

Fig. 33
Note
The gas connection can be made through the left or
right side panel. In the case of gas connection from the
right, route the gas pipe behind the intake extension of
the burner.
!
Please note
Mechanically loaded gas supply lines lead to
leaks and appliance damage.
Connect the gas line free of load and torque
stress.
1. Connect the mains gas to TRGI [or local regula-
tions].
AT: Connect the mains gas according to
ÖVGW-TR Gas and the regionally applicable
building regulations.
CH: Connect the gas supply according to SVGW.
Gas connection: R 2
Max. perm. static pressure: 100 mbar (10 kPa)
The nominal supply pressure is dependent on
the gas type and installation location.

tions
Note
The [German] Combustion Order stipulates that
thermally activated shut-off equipment must be
installed in the gas line. If the gas line is contami-
nated (e.g. old pipes with corrosion products), we
recommend installing a gas filter in the supply line.

2. Check for leaks.
!
Please note
Excessive test pressure will damage the
burner and gas train.
Max. test pressure 150 mbar/15 kPa. If a
higher pressure is required for tightness
tests, disconnect the burner and gas train
from the main supply pipe (undo the fitting).
Note
Only use suitable and approved leak detection
agents (EN 14291) and devices for the tightness
test. Leak detection agents with unsuitable constit-
uents (e.g. nitrides, sulphides) can cause material
damage.
Remove residues of the leak detection agent after
testing.
3. Purge the gas line to the outside.
Danger
Escaping gas can lead to explosions that
result in very serious injuries.
Never purge the gas line through the boiler
combustion chamber.
Conversion to alternative gas types:
See "Vitocrossal, type CRU" service instruc-
tions.
