When connecting via Wi-Fi:
(1) Confirm that the access point is operating correctly.
(2) Turn both this scanner and the access point off and
back on, and attempt the Wi-Fi connection again.
(3) The scanner may be positioned too far from the
access point. Connection is not possible if the
distance is too far.
(4) There may be a wall or furniture between the
access point and the scanner that is blocking the
connection. Reposition the devices or move them
closer together.
(5) Cordless phones, microwave ovens and radio
signals from other appliances can interfere with Wi-
Fi signals. Keep Wi-Fi devices away from such
appliances.
(6) When an access point's stealth function is enabled,
it cannot be detected during Wi-Fi setup. Disable
the stealth function or use manual setup to enter
the correct SSID of the access point.
(7) When the access point's MAC filtering function is
enabled, the MAC address of this scanner must be
registered.
(8) Wi-Fi connections are not recognized when
connected via USB or when connected via LAN.
Operate the touch panel to switch the connection
method. (See p. 40)
Problem 4 The scanner turned off automatically.
Solutions When the scanner's auto power off function is enabled,
the scanner's power is automatically turned off after 4
hours, regardless of whether a connection is active.
Turn the scanner back on, and as necessary, disable
the Auto Power Off.
Problem 5 I want to reset to the factory default settings.
Solutions The scanner's initialization is done on the touch panel
settings menu (See p. 39)

Problem 6 Automatic connection to the network is not
possible.
Solutions If your network environment supports DHCP, consult
your network administrator. If your network
environment does not support DHCP, configure the IP
address manually.
Problem 7 After doing settings on the Wireless Connection
Tool, an error occurs and the scanner cannot be
used (or found).
Solutions Immediately after setup with the Wireless Connection
Tool, the computer's network connection may be
unstable. Please wait for a while or restart the
computer.
Problem 8 Documents feed askew (scanned images are
slanted).
Solutions (1) Align the document guides to fit the documents as
closely as possible, and load the documents so that
they feed straightly.
(2) Open the document feed extension support and
place the document.
(3) Enable [Automatically straightens skewed] in the
scanner driver settings.
(4) If many pages have been scanned since roller
cleaning, clean the rollers. If documents still feed
askew, roller replacement or other maintenance
may be needed.

Problem 9 Documents are not scanned according to the
settings configured in the scanner driver.
Solutions When you scan using [Select document] panel
registered with CaptureOnTouch, the CaptureOnTouch
settings have priority over the scanner driver settings.
Edit settings in the [Select document] panel, or create a
new [Select document] panel using the desired
scanning conditions.
