Application example:
The current is to be measured as a voltage drop of 1 to 5 V at a resistance of 250
ohms ± 5 %. To compensate the tolerance of the resistance, the current transmitter
is adjusted so that the voltage drop at 4 mA corresponds to exactly one Volt and at
20 mA exactly 5 V.
Correction at 4 mA:
The transmitter is instructed to output 4 mA with the current transmitter correction
menu item. The measured value is read on the ammeter and entered for example
by the SIMATIC PDM. The transmitter uses this value for offset correction of the
current.
Correction at 20 mA:
The transmitter is instructed to output 20 mA with the current transmitter correc-
tion menu item. The measured value is read on the ammeter and entered for ex-
ample by the SIMATIC PDM. The transmitter uses this value for slope correction
of the current. The value for 4 mA is not altered as a result.

Factory Calibration

The transmitter can be returned to the as-delivered state with the factory calibration.
The user can select the scope of the recovered parameters in menus with SIMATIC
PDM or the HART® communicator in four steps:
1. Undo the current correction
2. Undo the sensor zero correction (position correction)
3. Undo the pressure corrections (sensor zero correction and sensor correction)
4. Undo all the parameters relevant for measured value processing such as start of
scale, full scale, electrical damping, display unit, current correction, sensor zero
