► In the sensor carrier (e.g. target wheel housing) make one or two thread bores
for clamping screws (e.g. headless screws M3) with which the sensor tube is
secured against moving and twisting in the bore (see example a).
  Installation examples:
a) Direct clamping of the sensor tube
Installation as shown in example b is of advantage if the target wheel is not ac-
cessible for exact distance adjustment.
The ring is then fixed on the sensor tube (using a headless screw) such that the
distance between the bottom edge of the ring and sensor measuring surface (X)
corresponds to the distance measured between the surface of the tooth (highest
point) and the ring contact surface (Z), reduced by the necessary air gap (L): X = Z –
L.

Function test

 Check the function of the MiniCODER using a suitable instrument, preferably an
oscilloscope.
Connect the MiniCODER to the instrument (connection assignment → document
Technical information).
Slowly turn the target wheel and monitor the output signal on the instrument.
If function is correct an adequate sine wave or square-wave signal will be displayed on
the oscilloscope
