f Insert the thermometer as far as it will go and align it.

10.1 Initial start-up

f Open a draw-off point until the appliance has filled up and
f
the pipework is free of air.
f Vent the internal indirect coil.
f
f Carry out a tightness check.
f
f Check the solar thermal system for correct function.
f
f Fit and check accessories as required.
f
f Check the safety valve for correct function.
f
f Check that the DHW temperature displayed on the solar con-
f
trol unit is correct.

f Explain the appliance function to users and familiarise them
f
with its operation.
f Make the user aware of potential dangers, especially the risk
f
of scalding.
f Hand over these instructions.
f

10.2 Recommissioning

See chapter "Commissioning / Initial start-up".

11. Shutdown

f Disconnect any accessories installed from the mains at the
f
MCB/fuse in the fuse box.
f Drain the appliance. See chapter "Maintenance / Draining the
f
appliance".

12. Maintenance

Carry out all electrical connection and installation work
in accordance with relevant regulations.

If you need to drain the appliance, observe chapter "Draining the
appliance".

12.1 Draining the appliance

WARNING Burns
Hot water may escape during the draining process.
If the appliance needs to be drained for maintenance or to protect
the whole installation when there is a risk of frost, proceed as
follows:
f Close the shut-off valve in the cold water inlet line.
f
f Open the hot water taps on all draw-off points.
f
f Drain the appliance via the drain valve of the safety
f
assembly.

12.2 Checking the safety valve

f Regularly vent the safety valve on the safety assembly until a
f
full water jet is discharged.

12.3 Replacing the signal anode

A segmented signal anode is available as a spare part.
f Replace the signal anode if it becomes depleted. For this, en-
f
sure there is a good connection between the anode and the
cylinder (maximum permissible transition resistance 0.3 Ω).

12.4 Cleaning and descaling the appliance

1 Threaded holes for forcing screws
f To separate the flange plate from the flanged connector, use
f
the threaded holes and forcing screws.
For the torque of the flange screws, see chapter "Specification /
Dimensions and connections".
f Never use descaling pumps.
f
f Never treat the cylinder surface or the signal anode with des-
f
caling agents.
