When installing the carriage guide, install it so that it does not

get bent and so that there is enough room for the carriage to
pass.

When installing the carriage guide plate, insert the two dowels
on the printer mechanism into the two mounting holes.
When installing the carriage guide plate, the screws should be
installed in the order shown in Figure 4-36.
When replacing or re-installing the Printhead, make sure that the
C A U T I O N
CR Guide Plate is correctly installed first.
If this is not done, the end of the Printhead may contact the surface
of the Paper Guide, which could cause damage to the Printhead
during installation.
4.
Remove the Extension Spring which is securing the left side of the Linear Scale
from the top of the Main Frame (Left).
When removing the Extension Spring, handle the spring carefully
C A U T I O N
and do not pull it more than necessary, otherwise the spring may
become stretched.

The Extension Spring will not fall down even when it is removed

from the Main Frame (Left).
5.
Disengage the right side of the Linear Scale which is secured to the Mechanism
Frame.
6.
Disengage the left side of the Linear Scale which is secured to the Mechanism
Frame.
7.
Pull out the Linear Scale from the left side.
If the Linear Scale is pulled out from the right side, the Extension

Spring may be damaged, so always pull it out from the left side.

When installing the Extension Spring to the Liner Scale, be

careful not to twist the end of the Spring.
The linear scale should be installed so that the notched part on
the left end is facing upward.
