• Like bristles of a toothbrush, ultrasonic inserts "wear" with
use. Refer to the Efficiency Wear Indicators supplied with
your Cavitron system or insert and the How to Use the
Efficiency Indicator section of these Directions for Use. If
excessive wear is noted, discard the insert immediately.
• Never operate system without fluid flowing through
handpiece.
• Follow Infection Control Information recommendations
carefully.
• Dental Healthcare Professionals are responsible for knowing
and complying with industry guidelines, standards of care,
and statutory and regulatory requirements that apply to the
safe practice of dentistry.
• Dental Healthcare Professionals are responsible for practicing
asepsis where such precautions are required by regulations,
to comply with the appropriate standards of care, or in their
best judgment.
UNIT POWER SETTINGS
• PEC, PEC-2, FSI
Slimline
®
L&R inserts should be used up to medium power.
• All other Cavitron inserts may be used up to maximum
power.
INSERT SELECTION
Base insert selection on the following:
• Patient's health or disease status.
• Root anatomy, considering concavities and furcations.
• Type and location of deposits to be removed.
