Prepare the computer for disassembly
2.
Remove the access panel
3.
Remove the fan duct
4.
Remove the fan sink
5.
Pull the locking arm away from the processor (1), and the rotate the arm to its full open position (2).
6.
Raise and rotate the microprocessor retainer to its fully open position (3).
7.
Carefully lift the processor from the socket (4).
IMPORTANT:
could cause irreparable damage. If pins are damaged, you might have to replace the system board.
To install a processor, reverse the removal procedure.
NOTE:
After installing a new processor onto the system board, always update the system ROM to ensure
that the latest version of the BIOS is being used on the computer. The latest system BIOS can be found on the
Web at: http://www8.hp.com/us/en/support-drivers.html.
