SCAN BOTH BANDS (802.11b and 802.11a)
Selected from the main menu, this measurement scans
through all 802.11b and 802.11a channels and displays
the resulting dBm vs. channel on an easy to read graph
or in large text characters.
Access the text measurement display option anytime
by pressing the LEFT ARROW button. Press the same
button again to return to the graphical measurement
display.
If the type of AP or NIC is unknown, this measurement
can be used to identify the RF band. Once the band is
identified, the frequency can be found using the Scan
Band measurement.
SCAN BAND (802.11b/802.11b)
Use this measurement to identify the frequency of the
AP or NIC under test. The result of this measurement
is displayed on an easy to read graph. The frequency
identified is marked by an arrow and the channel
number associated with the frequency is displayed in
the upper left of the graph display.
The SCAN BAND measurement for the 2.4 GHz band
is selected via the 802.11b menu. SCAN BAND for the
802.11a band is selected using the 802.11a menu.
The channel found by the SCAN BAND measurement
is used by the CHANNEL POWER and POWER PROFILE
measurements.

by pressing the LEFT ARROW button. Press the same
button again to return to the graphical measurement
display.
