Operating instruction
For the correct connection and
disconnection of the trailer:
» It has to be borne in mind that there should free space
around the coupling ball, and that the spare wheel,
frame or add-on elements may cause obstructions.
» The trailer must be loaded evenly, without exceeding
permissible drawbar load [S] (embossed on the ball
hitch).
» To make sure that the ball hitch is safely fastened, the
position of the indicator and the play between the ball
hitch and the coupling ball must be checked.
» If there is a play between the coupling ball and the
ball hitch, which can be defined by the knocking noise
during operation, this means that the ball hitch or the
coupling ball is worn and must be immediately repla-
ced by the new one. The minimum diameter of the
coupling ball is 49 mm. If the diameter is smaller, it is
worn.
» If the ball hitch is deformed or damaged as a result of
an accident or overload, it has to be immediately
replaced by a new one.
» Ball hitches are assemblies which are very important
for the road safety. Therefore, any changes to the ball
hitches are not allowed.

4. 1. Connection

The opened ball hitch is placed onto the coupling ball of the
towing vehicle (Fig. 5)
If the drawbar is loaded or there is an additional load on the
drawbar, the ball hitch closes automatically and the lateral
safety flaps (1) are positioned parallel to the safety surfaces on
the housing. (Fig. 5)
If the coupling ball is in the coupling housing, the green pin
of the control indicator (2) is visible. (Fig. 5)
opened

4. 2. Activation of stabiliser

For activation the operating lever must be moved from the
closed position down up to the stop. (Fig. 6)
Fig. 6: Activation of stabilisation
This will tighten the spring assembly generating pressure on
the coupling ball via the friction elements. After that the ope-
rating lever has approximately parallel position to the drawbar
axis. It is possible to to drive without activated stabiliser but
not recommended. However, manoeuvring is easier if it is
done without activated stabiliser.
