5.8 Inserting the SIM card

The charging infrastructure can be connected to a
Backend system via mobile telephony. For this purpose, a
SIM card must be inserted in the ACU.
Data is transferred when communication takes
place via mobile communications networks.
Therefore, to avoid high charges, only use SIM
cards from mobile telephony contracts in which
the data volume is not limited (e.g. flat-rate
plans).
Preparing the SIM Card
Before inserting the SIM card into the device, it may be
necessary to deactivate the PIN. A mobile telephone with-
out a SIM lock is required for this purpose.

Damage to components or device due to electrostatic dis-
charge.
f Touch an earthed metal part before inserting the
SIM card.
