General notes on safety Every person in charge of setting up, operating, servicing and repairing the machine must first read and understand the operating instructions and particularly the safety instructions before starting up the machine. Failure to comply with the following safety instructions can lead to bodily injury or damage to the machine.
Page 10
14. Warning instructions given in the operating instructions that pertain to especially dangerous parts of the machine must be indicated at these positions using a safety symbol. Warning instructions given in the operating instructions that pertain to special injury hazards for operating personnel or technicians must be indicated at these positions using a safety symbol.
Machine applications Class 310D-R Two thread blind stitch double lock stitch machine for trimming the inside lining up to 8 mm under the lining fold in the jacket hem.
Needle size Thread polyester continuous filament Thread size 120/2 Air pressure 6 bar Average air consumption Cl.310D-R 25 l/h Cl.3100D-R 20 l/h Foot print 0.5 m x 1.1 m Noise: Average noise level at a speed of n = 1300 min...
Adjusting instructions in brief Plunger highest position to the needle needle point 4 mm before centre plunger at 6 mm transport length Plunger stops to the needle needle point 5 mm after centre plunger Transport length lower transport 2 – 6 mm Transport length upper transport ...
Notes on repair and adjustment A T T E N T I O N ! Danger! Observe notes on safety and the operating instructions prior to maintenance and repair work. If these are not observed serious damages can occur. Stitch plate fitting A t t e n t i o n ! Disconnect machine from the mains! Stitch plates are adjusted at the works and can be exchanged without...
3.1.2 Fitting the stitch plate Fitting is carried out in reverse order. Care must be taken that the side transporter and the levers for the side plunger and the side presser are again in the correct position. 3.1.3 Adjusting the stitch plate The theoretic needle radius of 43.6 mm should be smaller by 0.15 –...
Fig. 2 3.1.5 Exchanging the needle slide plate (Fig. 1) The needle slide plate is mounted at the underside of the stitch plate. It can be removed by releasing the cheese-head screw (2). MA_310D-R_3100D-R_A16-3_181015_en...
Adjusting the needle lever A t t e n t i o n ! Disconnect machine from the mains! 3.2.1 Adjusting the needle lever path (Fig. 2) After removing the head hood and releasing the hexagon nut (11), the needle lever path can be corrected by turning the eccentric bolt (10).
Loop stroke Under loop stroke one understands the path of the needle from its deepest position to the point at which the hook point stands above the needle centre. 3.3.1 Setting the loop stroke (Fig. 3) A t t e n t i o n ! Disconnect machine from the mains! The loop stroke is set at the works to 2 mm at the right needle penetration.
Hook 3.4.1 Removal and fitting of the hook (Fig. 2 and Fig. 3) A t t e n t i o n ! Disconnect machine from the mains! Remove the following parts: Cover (head back), needle, stitch plate, steering lever (1) (Fig. 2), bolt (15) (Fig.
3.4.3 Removal and fitting of the reel capsule (Fig. 5) If a thread is stuck between reel capsule and hook, the reel capsule must be taken out, as otherwise the machine is blocked. This makes removal of the hook necessary, see point “ 3.4.1 Removal and fitting of the hook (Fig.
3.4.5 Setting the reel capsule venting (Fig. 2) The loop of the needle thread taken up by the hook must be able to be pulled easily and without impairment over the reel capsule. The reel capsule venting must start when the loop has left the uppermost point of the reel capsule and have vented these, when the loop is pulled between the reel capsule and the hook bridge nose.
Side plunger The side plunger presses the upright inserted sewing material (fabric hem or lining) from the left into the stitch plate opening so that the needle can pierce the sewing material at the left penetration. 3.6.1 Adjusting the side plunger (Fig. 2) A t t e n t i o n ! Disconnect machine from the mains! The upper dead point of the cam (4) for the side plunger (8) responds when the...
Feed movement To achieve an initial stitch as even as possible it is also important to set an even, synchronised transport movement. 3.7.1 Feed dog (lower feed) (Fig. 7) The machine is equipped at the works with a saw-toothed feed dog (1). This can be adjusted by turning the bolt with eccentric (4) parallel to the stitch plate.
3.7.3 Adjusting the feed movement (Fig. 8) A t t e n t i o n ! Disconnect machine from the mains! The eccentric (1) on the main screw must be adjusted in such a way that the feed starts when the needle point on its way back (by 6 mm feed) is 3 mm past the centre of the plunger.
Presser plate The presser plate presses the sewing material from below onto the stitch plate during initial stitch. During transport the presser plate should lift from the stitch plate when processing thick sewing material by 5 mm, with thin to medium sewing material by 2.5 mm.
Plunger The plunger presses the sewing material from below into the stitch plate opening, so that the needle can initial stitch the sewing material at the right penetration. 3.9.1 Removing the plunger (Fig. 11) A t t e n t i o n ! Disconnect machine from the mains! Remove stitch plate, see point “3.1.1 Removing the stitch plate”.
3.9.2 Fitting and adjusting the plunger (Fig. 11 and Fig. 13) Fitting is carried out in reverse order. However, for accurate adjustment the following points must be observed: The straight pin (3) (Fig. 11) must engage in the groove of the plunger sleeve.
Fig. 12 3.9.4 Adjusting the digital stitch depth display (Fig. 13) When the regulating button (1) is turned to the right onto the stop, the gear (6) must be screwed on the screw of the helical potentiometer in such a way, that a value between 003 and 006 is shown on the display and the distance to the gear (4) is approx.
3.10 Interval gear The principle of the interval gear rests on the repeat of an always-consistent different plunger height with the individual penetrations of the needle. With the needle lever with radial and swinging movement, the interval enables the needle to penetrate either right or left. 3.10.1 Adjusting the interval gear (Fig.
3.11 Spot tack A t t e n t i o n ! Switch off machine electrically! A t t e n t i o n ! Danger of finger bruises in the area of pneumatically operated parts. 3.11.1 General Sewing drive instructions.
Page 33
The pneumatic cylinder (1) is activated during the point tack function and pushes the side transport away by lever (2). The side transport needs to be set so that it does not contact the material during the point tack. Fig. 16 MA_310D-R_3100D-R_A16-3_181015_en...
3.12 Pneumatic venting A t t e n t i o n ! Danger of finger bruises in the area of pneumatically operated parts. 3.12.1 General For venting the machine, a pneumatic venting can also be supplied instead of the knee lever. By treading the treadle for switching the motor backwards, the machine travels to its position and vents pneumatically.
