3. To install a PCIe adapter in position 1 or 2, remove the PCIe riser as shown in Figure 53 on page 90.

a) Retract the retaining pin (A) as shown in Figure 53 on page 90.
b) Lift the PCIe riser from the system.
c) Place the PCIe riser on an ESD surface.
d) Remove the screw and the tail-stock filler for that position.
e) If you are inserting a storage drive adapter, connect the signal cables to the adapter before
inserting the adapter.
