Procedure

Step 1 Tap more on the home screen to display the conference controls list.

Step 2 Tap Display Captions to enable captions to be displayed on the local center HD display.

If both captions and scripts are available, scripts are displayed.

Step 3 Tap Hide Captions to hide captions.

8.4 Requesting and Releasing Chair Control Rights

After obtaining chair control rights, you have more conference control functions.

Context

If no chair site has been selected to chair the conference, any site can request chair control rights.

If Conference password was set for the conference, you must enter the password to request chair

control rights. The conference chair site has more conference controls available than other sites.

After releasing the chair control rights, you become a non-chair site and only the functions of

viewing sites, requesting the floor, displaying/hiding captions, and requesting chair control rights

are available.

Procedure

Step 1 Tap more on the home screen to display the conference controls list.

Step 2 From the conference control list, tap Request Chair to request chair control rights.

Step 3 After becoming the chair site, you can tap Release Chair to release the chair control rights.

Context

Using the Give Floor function, the chair site can broadcast the audio and video of a site to all

the other sites in the conference. If a site is given the floor, only the microphones of the site

given the floor and the chair site are not muted. To unmute the microphones of all sites, enable

discussion. Depending on the settings on the ResourceManager (RM) or Service Management

Center (SMC), the site given the floor will view either of the following sites:

If a chair site exits the conference, the chair control rights are released automatically.
