Proper functioning of the fastenings.
Integrity of the stitching.
Good condition of the metal elements (no cracks, corrosion, etc.).
The attachment of the fall arrest system to the harness MUST be made SOLELY by the back attaching
element provided for the purpose ( "D" link or webbing attaching extension) or by chest anchorage
points (webbing link or "D" link ).
Ensure in all cases that the anchorage:
Is correctly positioned and the work is done in a way that minimises the risk of a fall and the
potential fall distance.
Has a minimum strength of 12 kN.
Is located above the operator.
Is in the vertical axis of the work plane: (maximum deviation ± 30°).
Fits suitably with the equipment hanging system.
Has no sharp edges.
CARABINER:
We recommend that you check the following points:
When connecting this equipment, ensure karabiner gates are locked correctly in place.
Allocate equipment to each individual user whenever possible.
Check the equipment before each use to ensure in particular that there is no distortion, no
signs of excessive wear and the locking system is working properly.

7 - USE

When in use, protect your PPE against any risk related to the working environment: thermal, electrical,
mechanical, chemical, sharp edges, etc.
When in use, regularly check the adjustment and/or fixing components.
7-1 PRODUCT DESCRIPTION

7-2 OPERATING PRINCIPLE

The automatic fall-arrest block must be attached by its carabiners. (see section 7-3). When the user is
moving around or being moved, the strap must be held under tension by the retracting spring built
into the apparatus. In the case of a fall, the internal blocking system stops the strap from unrolling,
thereby arresting the fall under optimal conditions.A warning flag is included and will be exposed
should the lifeline be subjected to fall arresting forces (equipment to remove from service)

7-3 INSTALLATION PRINCIPLE

Connection:
The retractable type fall arrester harness must be connected to a reliable anchorage point by
its handle or by a connector, a lanyard, a fibre-type sling compliant with standards EN 362.
The connector situated at the end of the cable or of the strap of the equipment must be
connected to the dorsal fall arrest anchorage point of the harness. Appendix 3 See marking,
page 207 (7O)
he connector attached to the retractable strap of the apparatus must be connected to the
anchor point of the structure See figure 7
ATTENTION DO NOT ATTACH THE STRAP OF THE FALL ARRESTER TO OTHER POINTS THAN THOSE
INTENDED FOR THIS SYSTEM DO NOT ATTACH IT DIRECTLY TO THE WEBBING, ON THE ADJUSTMENT
ELEMENTS OR ON THE ACCESSORY HOLDER See figure 8
