Chapter 5: Installing Optional Accessories

This printer comes equipped with a serial interface board (Connector Type: D-
sub 9-pin) installed as standard. The following two interface boards and a
customer display are also available as options.
• Parallel interface board: IFBD-D
• Serial interface board (Connector Type: D-sub 25-pin): IFBD-C
• Customer display: SCD-202

Installing an optional interface board

Make sure that the printer is turned off and unplugged from its power
outlet.
Use the procedure in "Setting the DIP Switches" on page 154 to change the
setting of Switch 5 of DIP Switch 2 to OFF (optional interface).
Remove the two screws that secure the cover plate on the back of the
printer, and then remove the cover plate.
If you are installing the optional serial interface board, set the DIP switches
on the board to the settings you want to use. See "Setting the DIP switches
on the optional serial interface board" on page 163 for details on these DIP
switch settings.
