    Electricity Supply connect the bed to the electricity supply for at least 24 hours to allow the backup battery to recharge fully; failure to do this may reduce the life of the battery. After charging, check that the battery is fully serviceable by carrying out a battery test as shown on page 59.

    Backup Battery The backup battery allows operation of the bed for short periods when it is unplugged from the electricity supply or in emergency situations when the electricity supply is not available. When the bed is unplugged from mains power, it enters a low-power mode to conserve battery power.

    VariZone Patient Movement / Exit Detection The patient movement detection system can be set to alarm when undesired movement of the patient occurs. The sensitivity of the patient movement detection, relative to the center of the deck, can be varied incrementally.
