2.1.5 Filter Accessories

Advice: Install pressure differential gauge:
This will indicate the degree to which the elements are soiled and
show when they need to be replaced.

C. AF-1400 and above
 Isolate the filter by closing the manual valves before and
after the filter.
 Completely depressurize the filter.
 Open the handhole; be sure to have hold of the
manway cover so as not to lose it into the filter.
 Remove the wing nut from the filter top plate(s) and
remove the plate(s).
 Remove the element(s) from the filter housing.
 Inspect the filter base plate(s), t-bar(s), and filter
union(s) (if applicable). Replace as needed.
 Install new element(s) to original position in housing.
 Put back cover plate and wing nut.
 Inspect o-ring or gasket. Replace if necessary.
 Put back cover plate or yoke, then reattach yoke
assembly and tighten.
 Slowly repressurize the filter.
 Check for air leaks with soap solution.
 Place back into service.
