13.3.1
Apply pressure on the optional wireless foot pedal to control the rotation speed of the DPA throughout the
procedure (mode Indicator turns solid Blue). By slightly increasing the pressure, the speed of the DPA cup will
increase. By reducing pressure, the speed of the DPA cup will decrease.
13.3.2
To return the cordless handpiece to Standby Mode, remove pressure from the optional wireless foot pedal. A
solid Green Mode Indicator will show on the cordless handpiece.
13.3.3
To move the cordless handpiece to SmartMode mode, remove pressure from the optional wireless foot pedal. A
solid Green Mode Indicator will show on the cordless handpiece. Press the On/Off Mode button on the cordless
handpiece, and the Mode Indicator will turn solid Purple to show that the unit has entered SmartMode mode.
13.4
Mode Status (Cordless Handpiece)
Whenever the cordless handpiece is in normal operational mode (i.e., not being charged or synchronized), the Mode
Indicator on the cordless handpiece displays information about the system according to the table below:

To turn the handpiece off:
With the handpiece in Standby Mode (solid Green Mode Indicator), press and hold the On/Off/Mode button for
approximately one and one half second until the charge indicators turn off, and then release the button.

NOTES:
If the cordless handpiece seems to be losing power,
recharge as soon as possible.
If the cordless handpiece battery is completely
discharged, the battery indicator will blink and the
unit will shut down. The handpiece must be put in the
cordless handpiece charging base before it's able to
operate again.

Unit is
No Color
- turned off, or
- in Sleep mode
Unit is ready for use and is in Standby Mode
Unit is in SmartMode™
Foot Pedal is depressed and the prophy
cup is spinning in response to pressing a
synchronized optional wireless foot pedal
Internal temperature of the Handpiece is
higher than normal. The light will turn off
when the temperature returns to normal.
Operator should refrain from using the
handpiece for several minutes until the solid
Orange Mode Indicator goes out. If the
solid Orange Mode Indicator persists, call
