5) Compliance to RoHS directive (Restriction of the Use of Certain
Hazardous Substances in Electrical and Electronic Equipment)
The RoHS directive will ban the use of the following six toxic substances in
any electrical and electronic equipment: Lead, mercury, cadmium, hexavalent
chromium, polybrominated biphenyl, and polybrominated diphenyl ether. It will
take effect from July 1, 2006 and be applied to products sold in the EU. The
EOS 20D meets this directive.
