System limitations
Route-based speed adaptation does not take
right of way regulations into account. The driver
is responsible for complying with road traffic
regulations and driving at a suitable speed.
In difficult conditions (e.g. unclear roads, narrow
lanes, wet road surfaces, snow or ice) or when
driving with a trailer, the speed adjustment made
by the system may not always be suitable. In
these situations the driver must intervene
accordingly.

Function of Active Steering Assist
Active Steering Assist assists the driver at
speeds up to 210 km/h and helps the driver to
stay in the centre of the lane by means of mod‐
Speed
erate steering interventions. The system orients
.
itself using detected lane markings. Depending
on the speed driven, Active Steering Assist uses
the vehicles ahead as a reference. If the detec‐
tion of lane markings and vehicles ahead is
impaired, Active Steering Assist switches to pas‐
sive mode. The system does not provide support
in the form of steering interventions.
