Quick Start Guide and Warranty Information About the USB 3.0 Spectra 3022 The Spectra 3022 incorporates Icron’s patented ExtremeUSB® technology, enabling users to extend beyond the approximate 3m cable limit for USB 3.0 peripheral devices. With the Spectra 3022, USB 3.0 devices can be located up to 100 meters from the computer.
The LEX Unit The Local Extender (LEX) connects to the computer using a standard USB 3.0 cable. Power for this unit is provided by the USB on the host computer. Front View Rear View ITEM TYPE DESCRIPTION Power ON Unit is powered properly. Power OFF Unit is not powered or not powered properly.
The REX Unit The Remote Extender (REX) provides USB Type A ports for USB 3.0 devices.The REX allows you to connect up to two USB 3.0 devices directly.The REX is powered by an external AC adapter and can supply up to 900mA to each USB port.

Installing the Spectra 3022 System Preparing Your Site Before you can install the Spectra 3022, you need to prepare your site: Determine where the computer is to be located and set up the computer. Determine where you want to locate the USB device(s). Ensure f iber optic cabling is in place, prepared, properly terminated, and within the maximum distances as def ined for the cabling standard used.
