6.2 Dismounting and checking

Rule:
Before removing and setting the needle thread scissors check the
following:
–
The edge A of the mobile scissors part must be rounded off and
must be well polished to be smooth enough for the thread.
–
The mobile scissors part should first clamp the thread and then cut
it. (A correction is only possible by the part replacement.)
–
The thread clamping sheet 1 must be parallel when it rests on the
clamping surface, because otherwise the clamping force will not be
sufficient when starting the seam.
–
The clamping force of the thread clamping sheet must be strong
enough to hold the thread during the first 4 - 10 stitches.
–
The cutting edges of the scissors parts must be sharp enough to
ensure a perfect thread cut.

Removing, checking and mounting the shears:
–
Turn off main switch.
–
Hand out the spring .
–
Loosen the screw 3 and remove the needle thread scissors.
–
Dismount the needle thread scissors and check according to the
Rule.
–
Fit the needle thread scissors and conduct a cutting test.
–
Fit the needle thread scissors and hang-in the spring 2.
Setting order:
–
For setting the needle thread shears, the following Chapters
6.3 to 6.9 are to be worked through in the order given.
