5 - Configuring & Programming
This chapter describes how to configure and program your PTU.
Note: You may also have a simultaneous Ethernet connection to the Web interface, as
described in
Follow the appropriate instructions to connect the PTU-5 to the host computer, power it on, and access
it via:
• Web:
"Ethernet Connection" on page
• Serial:
"Serial Connection" on page

5.1 - Range of Motion

The PTU-5 range of motion can be limited in the following ways:
• Factory: Factory limits are smaller than hard limits to prevent physical damage to the PTU and/or
payload.
• User: User limits are programmable limits that are smaller than hard limits and can be as large as
factory limits.
The PTU-5 uses high-precision mechanical stops on the tilt axis. Resetting the PTU-5 may temporarily
move the PTU beyond its software-configured range of motion in the tilt and/or pan axis.
