14. Install the drive (motor) pulley to the motor shaft using the key supplied with the motor. The pulley goes onto
the shaft with the hub facing outward. Do not tighten the setscrews at this time.
15. Install the drive (fan) pulley onto the fan shaft using a ¼" x ¼" x 1 3/4" key. It is generally a good practice on
galvanized fans to place the pulley with the hub toward the pillow block bearings. Once the drive (fan) pulley is
flush with the end of the fan shaft align the pulleys using a straight edge along the pulley faces. Tighten all the
setscrews securely (approximately 80 – 85 in. lbs.).
It should be noted that the drive (fan) pulley can be put on the shaft with hub toward or away
from pillow bearings if necessary to align pulleys, depending on motor and length of shaft.
