Danger to life through electric shock due to unconnected cable shields
Hazardous touch voltages can occur through capacitive cross-coupling due to unconnected
cable shields.
• Connect cable shields and unused conductors of power cables (e.g. brake conductors)
NOTICE
Damage to the device and malfunctions as a result of static discharge
If static discharge occurs on surfaces or interfaces that cannot be easily accessed, this can
cause defects and/or malfunctions.

General

The 24 VDC voltage is required to supply:
● The electronics of the SINAMICS components via the integrated 24 V busbar
● The electronics of the Control Units, option boards, Sensor Modules, and Terminal
Modules, as well as the process voltage of their digital inputs
● The load voltage of the digital outputs
Note
The electronic power supply has to be provided by the user as described in Chapter System
data (Page 27).
When connecting a DC power supply as specified in EN 60204-1:1997, sect. 4.3.3,
malfunctions may occur due to the voltage interruptions permitted for them.
