TEST #9: Heater Element

(on some models)
Perform the following checks to ensure the heater is
functioning properly.
1. Unplug washer or disconnect power.
2. Remove the heater terminal plastic cover.
3. Check the connection to the water heater element.
4. Check the resistance of the heater element. If the heater
is open (infinite), replace the heater element and reinstall
the heater terminal plastic cover.
5. Visually inspect that the connector on the main control
(J5) that plugs into the lower harness is installed correctly
(see wiring diagram, page 6-4).
¾ If visual check passes, go to step 7.
¾ If visual check fails, reconnect cable.
6. If connections are correct, replace the main control.
