Thank you for purchasing the FDG-232R red beam, laser level kit.
These instructions are intended to explain the quick basics to operating this
equipment. If you need any more information, or the unit requires calibration

Power source:

The FDG-232R accepts 4pc x type AA rechargeable or alkaline (supplied)
batteries. Ensure correct polarity when fitting. Rechargeable batteries have to
be charged outside the laser instrument. There is no provision for charging
within the laser.

Positioning the Laser:

Mount the FDG-232R on a generally level, firm surface or a 1/4" threaded
laser accessory eg. a Floor to Ceiling Pillar or Tripod. You may need to use an
adapter. To operate correctly, this surface must be within +/-4 deg of true
horizontal.
If the laser alarms (ie. beeps every second), then it is outside its levelling
range.

  • Page 2 The instrument has a fully automatic pendulum system to set true level. (A slide switch / transit latch locks the pendulum when not in use.) IF THE FDG-232R EMITS CONTINUOUS RED LASER LINES & DOTS, THEN THEY WILL ALL BE TRUE LEVEL & PLUMB.
  • Page 3 Use with or without its staff mounting bracket. Spare brackets are available. How to use the Detector: SWITCH ON the FDG-232R's button marked *PULSE. Face the detector towards the laser & find the centreline of the laser lines via the red pick-up window. Obtain a continuous tone for true level. Mark out.
  • Page 4 General Advice: This is an accurate measuring device - so to give good service, look after it! Prevent the FDG-232R from receiving severe knocks, bangs or vibration. Store the laser & its accessories in the supplied, foam-lined carry case. If wet, dry before storing & keep in storage temperatures between 5 - 25 deg For long-term storage, remove all batteries - to prevent any internal damage.
