Symptom
Digital zoom does not
function.
The image is in
monochrome.
The image and sound
break off when you play
back an image on a
personal computer.
The image cannot be
played back on a personal
computer.
Your camera cannot delete
an image.
The power turns off
suddenly.
The image does not
appear on the TV screen.
The slide show function
stops automatically.
You cannot use the
PROGRAM AE function.
The button does not
work.
You cannot resize the
image.
You cannot mark an image
with the print mark.

Cause and/or Solution
• You cannot use digital zoom to record moving
pictures.
• You shot the image in TEXT mode.
t Cancel the TEXT mode (page 38).
• You are playing back the file from the floppy disk.
t Copy the file to the hard disk of the personal
computer and then play back the file from the
hard disk (page 26).
t Consult the personal computer or software
manufacturer.
• The image is protected.
t Cancel the protection (page 48).
• With the PLAY/STILL/MOVIE selector set to
STILL or MOVIE, if you do not operate the camera
for about three minutes while the power is on, the
camera turns off automatically to prevent wearing
down the battery pack.
t Turn on the camera.
• The battery pack is discharged.
t Replace it with a charged battery pack.
• The VIDEO OUT setting of your camera is
incorrect.
t Change the setting (page 34).
• The slide show function stops after about
20 minutes.
t To continue the slide show, select [START]
again (page 46).
• The camera is set to TEXT mode.
t Cancel the TEXT mode (page 38).
• The camera is in manual focus mode.
t Set it to auto focus mode (page 39).
• PROGRAM AE is set to the Panfocus mode.
t Cancel the Panfocus mode (page 40).
• This function does not work on a moving image nor
on a TEXT image.
• The print mark cannot be marked on a moving
image nor on a TEXT image.
