TROUBLESHOOTING

CAUTION
7.1. If troubleshooting does not solve the
problem, contact your dealer or the manufacturer
directly. Use only original parts approved by the
manufacturer, otherwise a hazard risk arises.
ENGINE WILL NOT START – FUEL SYSTEM
Possible causes;
1. Choke OPEN.
2. Fuel tank empty.
3. Machine stored incorrectly with regards to
emptying fuel system.
4. Water or ice in fuel system.
5. Carburetor problem.
Possible corrective actions;
1. Move choke lever to CLOSED position – See
starting for COLD/Warm start.
2. Check and fill with fuel.
3. Check and clean fuel tank of sludge, fuel lines &
carburetor.
4. Refill with fresh fuel.
5. Contact your dealer.
ENGINE WILL NOT START – SPARK PLUG
Possible causes;
1. Incorrect spark plug.
2. Dirt or carbon build up on electrodes.
3. Spark plug short circuit.
4. Incorrect gap
5. Petrol/oil on spark plug.
Possible corrective actions;
1. Replace with correct spark plug.
2. Clean and check spark plug gap, replace as
required
3. Replace with correct plug.
4. Check and re-gap plug to 0.6mm to 0.7mm.
5. Clean the spark plug, allow any excess fuel to
evaporate. Start with full throttle.
ENGINE WILL NOT START – LOW COMPRESSION
Possible cause;
1. Serious internal engine damage or faulty valves
Possible corrective action;
1. Contact your dealer.
ENGINE LACKS POWER OR RUNS UNEVENLY – AIR
FILTER
Possible cause;
1. Clogged air filter.
Possible corrective action;
1. Clean and or replace as required.
ENGINE LACKS POWER OR RUNS UNEVENLY – FUEL
SYSTEM
Possible cause;
1. Machine stored incorrectly with regards to
emptying fuel system.
Possible corrective action;
1. Check and clean fuel tank of sludge, fuel lines &
carburetor. Refill with fresh fuel.
TINES DO NOT ROTATE
Possible causes;
1. Insufficient speed.
2. Incorrect clutch adjustment.
Possible corrective actions;
1. Speed up the engine.
2. Adjust clutch cable.
TINES CONTINUES TO ROTATE – WHEN CLUTCH
LEVER IS RELEASED
Possible causes;
1. Incorrect clutch adjustment.
Possible corrective actions;
1. Adjust the clutch cable.
