6.4.
Oil change.
DO NOT change the oil just after the engine has been running, the oil will be HOT and will be a burn/scald
hazard. You should however drain the oil whilst the engine is still warm so that the oil drains fully.
6.4.1.
To drain the oil undo the oil filler/dipstick. Turn the machine over so that the oil runs from the oil filler
neck into a suitable container. DO NOT dispose of oil down any drain or onto the ground instead it should be
recycled at your local amenity site.
6.4.2.
To fill with oil follow the instruction at section 2.4.7.
6.4.3.
To check oil level, remove the oil filler cap/dipstick and check that the oil is at the top of the dipstick.
6.5.
Cutting blades (tines).
You MUST stop the engine and allow the cutter to come to a full stop. Read all the following instructions before
beginning to change the tines sections.
6.5.1.
Among the most critical elements of the tiller is the tines. It is also the most subject to damage and
wear. In the course of tilling it makes contact with the roots, and other assorted of abrasives such as dirt,
stones, and occasionally a large rock or buried scrap. The loss of and wear the tines can significantly impair the
efficiency and performance of the tiller. Therefore, it is important to make frequent observations of the
condition of all of the tines and replace them as required.
6.6.
Clutch.
6.6.1.
You MUST check the operation of the clutch to make sure that the tines come to a STOP when the
clutch lever is released.
6.6.2.
For clutch adjustment see section 2.4.4.
6.7.
Drive belt.
6.7.1.
If the drive belt ceases to work then it will be necessary to return your unit to your dealer for
replacement.
