NONINVASIVE PACING
WARNING
Be sure that pacer output current (mA) is set to "OmA" when connecting and
disconnecting a patient from the PD 1400.
"PACER LEADS OFF" message appears on monitor display.
W Ensure pacing electrodes or multi-function electrodes are connected to
appropriate cables.
W Ensure electrodes are not dry. Do not use ECG or defibrillator gel.
Replace electrode if necessary.
H Ensure good electrode-to-patient contact-no
buckling or falling off
H Check integrity of pacing cables.
For multi-function cable
-
plug into test connector attached to the multi-function
cable. "PACER LEAD OFF" should disappear.
For standard pacing cable
-
connect to ZOLL NTP 4450 Pace Check. "PACER
LEAD OFF" should disappear.
W Replace pacing cables.

No stimulus marker
lJ-
present on ECG trace displayed on monitor.
W Ensure PD 1400 is in PACER ON mode.
W Ensure pacing rate (ppm) dial is set greater than patient rate.
No ventricular capture beat after stimulus marker on ECG monitor display.
W Increase output current level.
W Change ECG Lead select.
W Review pacing electrode placement.
W Verify that pacemaker is delivering the proper current using the ZOLL NTP 4450
Pace Check, or have appropiate technical staff check output.
W Check for pulse of patient.
