12 holes are punched at a
negative angle (1). In this tool,
the Flex Cam is equipped with
mechanically-driven filling
slides (2).
Working sequence:
The filling slide (2) is first moved
into position, controlled by the
overflow wedge (3). As the
press descends further, the four
Power Units (4) are pressuri-
sed, causing the Cam Units (5)
to punch the holes. In this
arrangement, the hole pun-
ching operation requires no
other drivers, which means
that it can easily be performed
at an angle of 90° to the work-
piece.
6 holes are punched at a
negative angle using working
cylinders that drive a shearing
punch unit (1).
Working sequence:
The diagram shows the Flex
Cam in its end position (press
at bottom dead centre). As the
working cylinder (2) starts to
move back, the punch moves
out of the punching area. The
entire shearing punch then
swivels down so that the work-
piece can be removed. The
operation is reversed when the
top part of the press down
descends once more. The tool
contains two systems: one on
the left and the other on the
right. Each system consists of
a Power Unit (3) that drives
three Cam Units.
