Description
a)
A button was pressed with no disc
loaded.
An attempt to delete a clip was made
with no disc loaded.
An attempt to format a disc was made
with no disc loaded.
An attempt was made to record, display
an E-E picture, record an essence mark,
or add a quick scene selection sub clip.
An attempt was made to record, display
an E-E picture, record an essence mark,
or add a quick scene selection sub clip
while extended menu item 310 "REC
INHIBIT" was set to "on."
A recording or E-E display operation was
attempted on a disc recorded in a format
different from the setting of basic menu
item 031 "RECORDING FORMAT."
An attempt to save the current clip list
was made while the REC INHI indicator
was lit.
An attempt to delete a clip was made
while the REC INHI indicator was lit.
An attempt to format a disc was made
while the REC INHI indicator was lit.
A playback or search button was
pressed for a disc containing no
recorded clips.
An attempt was made to delete a clip
from a disc containing no recorded clips.
The PREV button was pressed while
stopped at the top of the disc, or an
attempt was made to perform a high-
speed reverse search.
The NEXT button was pressed while
stopped at the end of the disc, or an
attempt was made to perform a high-
speed forward search.
The number of files on the disc had
reached the upper limit (5000), or there
was not enough capacity in the General
directory when an attempt was made to
record, display an E-E picture, record an
essence mark, or add a quick scene
selection sub clip.
An attempt was made to record or
display an E-E picture when there was
not enough free capacity on the disc, or
when the number of recorded clips had
reached the upper limit (300).
Action
Operate after inserting a disc.
To perform these operations on the disc,
set the Write Inhibit tab of the disc to the
recording enabled position.
To perform these operations, set extended
menu item 310 to "off."
See 7-3-2 "Extended Menu Operations"
(page 108) about how to make this setting.
To perform these operations on the disc,
change the setting of basic menu item 031.
See 7-2-2 "Basic Menu Operations" (page
94) about how to change this setting.
To perform these operations, cancel all of
the following write-protect settings.
• Write Inhibit tab of the disc
• Setting of extended menu item 310 "REC
INHIBIT"
• Mismatch between the recorded
sections of the disc and the setting of
basic menu item 031 "RECORDING
FORMAT"
These operations are not possible.
Insert a different disc with enough free
capacity.
